Benjamin Go - Physiotherapist

Ben established Macquarie Sports Physiotherapy in 2000 after spending 6 years in the public sector where he served as a senior in orthopaedics and outpatients.

Ben graduated from Sydney University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) degree, and then earned his Master in Health Science (Sports Physiotherapy) in 2000. In 2018 Ben was appointed as a Clinical Lecturer at Macquarie University, working with the university's postgraduate physiotherapy and medical programs.

Ben has been involved at an elite level with netball, and currently is appointed as physiotherapist to Eastwood Ryde Netball Association and the ERNA Hawks. With a keen interest in sporting injuries, he applies a diagnosis first approach to physiotherapy. Ben is an NSWIS accredited service provider.

Ben is actively involved in cycling, particularly mountain biking and as a member of Western Sydney Mountain Bike club he competes in club cross country races. Recently Ben has been offering a Bike Fitting service utilising real time motion analysis. He enjoys music, tennis, golf and spending time with his 2 boys and wife being active outdoors.

 

Derrick Shao - Physiotherapist

Completed his Masters of Applied Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in 2017. He has also gained his Kinesiology with Honours from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. 

Derrick has a particular interest in lower limb biomechanics which was prompted by his experience as a laboratory assistant at the Wolf Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory. Ontario's Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Centre.

Currently Derrick is involved with providing physiotherapy services to Eastwood Ryde Netball Association, Blacktown Rugby Union Football Club and Sydney Blue Sox Baseball.

In high school Derrick was competitive in short distance sprinting, hurdles and relay. In university he developed a passion for strength and conditioning. Currently he enjoys cycling and snow skiing. Derrick grew up in Toronto, Onatrio and proudly Canadian. He is fluent in Shanghainese and Madarin.

 

Catrin Jonsson – Exercise Physiologist and Massage Therapist

Catrin Jonsson is a sports and remedial massage therapist with more than 10 years experience. She holds a Masters degree in Exercise and Sport Science and has worked with NSWIS, Soccer NSW and the Australian Olympic Committee.

She treats a variety of musculoskeletal problems including low back pain, neck pain and headaches as well as sporting and overuse injuries. She has a particular passion for Trigger Point therapy and Active Release Techniques and is covered by most private health funds.

We are conveniently located in the Macquarie University Sports and Aquatic Centre on Gymnasium Road with ample metered parking within easy walking distance.The services we offer include:
